The average first time fix rate across field service organizations sits near 75 percent, according to Service Council and Aberdeen research.
About 86 percent of decision makers with field service teams say it is key to growing the business, per Salesforce's State of Service.
Tepia clients report roughly a 20 percent revenue increase after adding a mobile app to how their crews and customers work.
Tepia builds custom field service management software for companies that dispatch people to jobs: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, home improvement, facilities maintenance, equipment service, water conservation and property services. The buyer is usually an owner or operations director whose business has outgrown a spreadsheet or a platform like ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro or Jobber, and who needs the software to match how the company actually runs.
Field service is one of Tepia’s deepest verticals. Tepia built the Water Saver Solutions app for fixture care and water conservation in hospitals and healthcare facilities, and the RELI Solutions app for window and door replacement, both of which put a field workflow on a phone and a management view in the office. The patterns from those projects, offline first technician apps, job histories tied to equipment and locations, photo and signature capture, and accounting sync, are the foundation of this service.
This page is the hub for Tepia’s field service work. The companion pages cover HVAC apps, work order apps, scheduling and dispatch, and the question of custom versus ServiceTitan.
Field service software is a set of connected modules. Tepia scopes each one during Discovery and builds in the order that gets technicians using the app soonest, because adoption in the truck is what makes everything else work.
Technicians work in basements, mechanical rooms, rural routes and new construction with no signal. A field app that needs a connection will be replaced by a phone call to dispatch within a week.
Tepia builds technician apps natively with Kotlin and Swift when barcode scanning, rugged devices or heavy camera use are involved, and in React Native or Flutter when a single codebase fits. Either way the app is engineered for the way technicians actually use a phone: large tap targets, a day view that loads instantly, camera in two taps, and a checklist that can be completed with gloves on. Tepia’s apps average 4.5 stars on the App Store and Google Play, and the technician app is where that standard matters most in field service.
Dispatchers get a web board built in React with real time updates, technician location, drag and drop reassignment, and capacity views by skill and territory. Owners get reporting that answers the questions that run the business: first time fix rate, revenue per truck per day, and agreement renewals.
Custom field service software rarely replaces everything at once. Tepia’s integration work lets the new system sit alongside what you keep. The most common connections are QuickBooks Online or Desktop for invoices, payments and customers; ServiceTitan when a company keeps it for billing but needs a custom technician or customer experience; Salesforce or HubSpot for leads and estimates; Stripe or Square for payments in the field; Twilio and SendGrid for customer messaging; and Zapier or Make for lighter automations with marketing and review tools.
Where several systems need to stay in sync, Tepia builds a middleware layer on AWS or Azure rather than fragile point to point connections. See systems integration services for the approach. If the question is whether to leave a platform at all, when off the shelf field software stops fitting lays out the signs.
Tepia’s six phase process is built around the reality that field software is adopted in trucks, not in conference rooms. Tepia rides along where possible. Deliverables are an Investigation Summary, an Interview Summary and User Stories for every role, including the edge cases (callbacks, partial jobs, parts on order, warranty work).
Design produces a design questionnaire, moodboards, a style guide, detailed wireframes for the technician app, dispatch board and customer portal, and sample designs reviewed with actual technicians. Development and Testing runs on Alpha and Beta schedules: Alpha with the office team, Beta with two or three technicians on live jobs, under a written test plan that covers functional, user acceptance and non functional testing including offline behavior and sync conflicts.
Launch includes migration of customers, equipment and open jobs from the old system, a transition period where both run, and Tepia support reps on call during the first weeks of rollout.
Every engagement has an assigned Tepia project manager, US based design and engineering leadership, and hand picked engineers in US hours. Full process at tepia.co/process.
