Deskless and frontline workers make up about 80 percent of the global workforce, according to Emergence Capital research.
About 17 percent of US B2B sales now happen through digital channels, according to Forrester research.
Mobile devices generate roughly 60 percent of global website traffic, according to Statista's mobile traffic reports.
A consumer app fights for attention and downloads. A B2B app is issued to people who have to use it to do their jobs, so the priorities invert. Tepia builds B2B apps around reliability, correct access and fit with the systems of record, not around virality.
The buying process is different too. A B2B app goes through procurement, a security review and often a pilot with one region or one partner before wider rollout. The lifecycle is long: these apps run for years, integrate deeply, and accumulate features as the business changes. Tepia designs for that horizon rather than for a launch spike.
Tepia has built exactly this class of software, including field service tools, an IoT access control portal for Maximum Controls, and grocery ordering for Mother’s Nutritional Center. Examples are at tepia.co/our-work.
B2B is a wide category, and each type has one requirement that dominates the build. Tepia uses the table below during Discovery to pin down which requirement is load bearing for your app, because getting that wrong is what turns a B2B project into a rescue project.
Across all of them, Tepia enforces role based access on the server for every request rather than hiding buttons in the interface, because a B2B app almost always exposes data that must stay separated by account, region or role. Tepia settles the role model in Discovery so it does not have to be unwound later.
Three technical pillars carry most B2B apps. The first is identity. Business users expect single sign on, and IT expects a partner or employee to lose access the moment they are offboarded. Tepia integrates SSO and SAML against Okta, Entra ID and Google Workspace, with provisioning and deprovisioning wired to your identity provider so access follows the person, not a forgotten account.
The second is offline operation. Field reps, warehouse staff and technicians work where connectivity is poor. Tepia builds these apps offline first, with the local database as the source of truth on the device, writes queued and synced when signal returns, and conflict rules agreed during Discovery. An app that assumes a connection gets abandoned in a week.
The third is integration with the systems of record. A B2B app is a front end to your ERP, CRM, catalog or order system. Tepia integrates with Salesforce, HubSpot, QuickBooks, ServiceTitan, Shopify and custom systems through REST and GraphQL APIs, adding middleware on AWS, Azure or GCP when several systems need one consistent view. The systems integration page covers this in depth.
Tepia runs B2B projects through its six phase process. Discovery includes a system investigation of your identity provider, ERP or CRM and existing APIs, user interviews across every role that will use the app, from field rep to administrator, and a third party integration review. Deliverables are an Investigation Summary, an Interview Summary and User Stories that procurement and security can review before design.
Design produces a design questionnaire, moodboards, a style guide matched to your brand, detailed wireframes for each role, and sample designs. Development and Testing runs on Alpha and Beta schedules with a written test plan covering functional, user acceptance and non functional testing, including offline, load and security scenarios that consumer apps rarely need.
Training is a full phase, run in person and remotely around real user story scenarios, so a distributor rep or a technician practices the actual workflow. Launch handles data migration, transition from the previous tool, and Tepia support reps present during rollout, which for B2B typically proceeds region by region or partner by partner. A Tepia project manager is assigned to every engagement, and leadership is US based. Details are at tepia.co/process.
B2B software is a long relationship, so the team you pick matters more than in a one off consumer build. Tepia is US led with individually sourced global talent, not a body shop. Project management, design leadership and engineering leadership are US based, engineers are hand picked and stay on the app across its life, and the team works in US overlapping hours, so a partner facing outage gets a same day response.
Tepia also builds for retention, which for a B2B app means adoption by the field, the dealers or the partners it was built for. An internal or partner app that people route around has failed no matter how well it passed the security review. The Participant Media Director of IT said of Tepia: “If I could build an in-house team, it would be exactly like them.”
If the app is an internal operations tool rather than a partner facing one, see internal tools development. If it is a field service app specifically, see field service management software. Full services are at tepia.co/services.
