About 64% of digitally active consumers use at least one fintech service, according to EY's Global FinTech Adoption Index.
Roughly two thirds of Miami-Dade County residents speak Spanish at home, US Census Bureau data shows, so bilingual apps are standard.
Tepia clients report about 90% customer retention, a useful proxy for how a US led team compares with a nearshore vendor.
Tepia serves South Florida from its Tampa office, about four hours by car or a short flight from Miami. Tepia is headquartered in Costa Mesa, California, with additional offices in Pittsburgh, Austin, Las Vegas and Kansas City, and has built software for thirteen years. For Miami clients, Tepia’s project manager and design lead travel for milestone meetings and run weekly work on video.
Tepia’s leadership is US based, including Abraham Agopian, Founder and CEO, Dustin Gordon, Director of Operations, Brianna Martison, Director of Engineering, and Fahad Baig, Technical Lead Manager. A project manager is assigned to every engagement.
Miami is the business gateway between the United States and Latin America, and many Miami companies already work with nearshore development teams in Colombia, Argentina, Mexico or Brazil. The attraction is clear: overlapping time zones and lower rates than a fully US salaried team. The common problem is the absence of US based leadership accountable for the product, so requirements drift, quality varies and someone on your side ends up managing engineers.
Tepia’s model takes the benefit without the gap. Project management, design leadership and engineering leadership are in the United States. Engineers are individually sourced global talent, hand picked for each project rather than assigned from a bench, and they work in US overlapping hours. A PalPilot analyst described the experience this way: “In every stage of our web development project, Tepia was there to nurture and guide our team.”

Miami’s fintech and financial services cluster, concentrated in Brickell and downtown, needs payment flows, account onboarding, identity verification and compliance built correctly from the start. Tepia scopes PCI DSS through tokenized payments with Stripe and Square, never stores card data, applies SOC 2 aligned practices and encryption in transit and at rest, and integrates with banking, CRM and accounting systems through REST and GraphQL APIs.
Logistics is the other defining Miami industry: PortMiami, Miami International Airport cargo, freight forwarders, cold chain operators and the distribution parks in Doral and Medley. These companies need driver apps, shipment tracking, warehouse and inventory tools and customer portals, often bilingual and often offline first. Tepia’s delivery, fleet and warehouse app work, and its Maximum Controls IoT project spanning iOS, Android and an admin portal, apply directly.
Miami also has strong real estate, hospitality, healthcare, and a large creator and media economy. Tepia’s work for Psych2Go, a YouTube creator community, and Vokl TV, plus its HIPAA aware healthcare architecture and retail ordering apps such as MNC Go, cover these markets. Tepia builds Spanish and English apps as a standard requirement for South Florida products.
Miami clients work with Tepia mostly on video, with in person sessions at the milestones that benefit from a room: the Discovery kickoff, the main design review, user acceptance testing and Training. The Tepia project manager and design lead travel from Tampa for those sessions. Weekly status calls, a shared project board and direct access to the engineering lead are standard.
Because the engineers work in US overlapping hours, Tepia fits the Eastern time business day that Miami runs on, including the early calls that companies with Latin American operations schedule. Tepia handles vendor security reviews and can work under the documentation requirements that fintech and logistics partners impose.
Tepia runs six phases on every Miami project. Discovery (typically 1 to 3 months) includes system investigation, user interviews with customers, drivers, agents or account holders, and third party integration review covering payment processors, banking APIs, WMS and CRM systems. Deliverables are an Investigation Summary, an Interview Summary and User Stories. Design delivers a design questionnaire, moodboards, a style guide, detailed wireframes and sample designs in both languages where required.
Development and Testing runs on Alpha and Beta schedules with functional, user acceptance and non functional testing, including security testing for financial flows. Training is hands on using user story scenarios, in person in Miami or remote. Launch covers data migration, transition from the old system and Tepia support reps on rollout.
