Tepia's App Evolution service is strategic consulting for apps that are already live: a structured review of analytics, retention, architecture and roadmap that tells you what to fix, what to build next, and whether to replatform.

About one in four installed apps is opened only once and then abandoned, according to app analytics published by Localytics.
Roughly 71 percent of mobile app users stop using an app within 90 days of install, per retention benchmarks from Localytics.
Mobile devices generate roughly 60 percent of global website traffic, according to Statista's mobile traffic reports.
App Evolution is the name Tepia gives to strategic consulting for products that already have users. Launching was the easy part. Twelve months later you have a year of analytics, a backlog nobody has prioritized, a few one star reviews that mention the same bug, and a quiet suspicion that the architecture will not carry the next stage of the business.
The service exists for three buyers. The operator whose app works but has stalled, and who needs to know which three changes would move retention. The IT director who inherited an app built by a vendor that has since disappeared. And the founder deciding whether to keep patching a first version or rebuild on a stronger foundation.
Tepia treats a live app as a business asset with measurable behavior, not a codebase to be admired. Every recommendation ties back to a number you can watch: day 30 retention, crash free sessions, support tickets per thousand users, or revenue per active user.
Tepia runs four reviews in parallel and merges them into one roadmap. Each produces a written deliverable you keep whether or not you continue with Tepia for execution.
The output is not a slide deck. It is a prioritized backlog with estimates, a written architecture memo, and a decision document your leadership can act on.
Tepia uses the criteria below during the technical review and shows you the scoring rather than asking you to trust a verdict.
In Tepia’s experience most live apps land in the middle column. Tepia recommends a full rebuild only when at least three signals sit in the right hand column.
App Evolution follows the same six phase process Tepia uses for new builds, compressed for a product that already exists. Discovery is the heart of the engagement. Tepia runs a system investigation of your codebase, infrastructure and third party integrations, interviews 5 to 10 users and stakeholders, and delivers an Investigation Summary, an Interview Summary and a set of User Stories for the proposed changes.
Design work is scoped to the problem. If the retention audit shows users abandoning onboarding at step three, Tepia redesigns those screens with wireframes and sample designs rather than restyling the entire app. An updated style guide is produced only when the existing one is inconsistent enough to slow engineering down.
Development and Testing runs on Alpha and Beta schedules with a written test plan, so changes to a live product reach real users in controlled stages. Training covers any new admin tools or workflows. Launch is handled as a staged rollout with support reps watching the first days, because a live app has customers who notice.
Every App Evolution engagement has an assigned Tepia project manager, with design and engineering leadership based in the US and engineers working in US overlapping hours. You can read the full process at tepia.co/process.
Tepia measures the engagement by the numbers that moved. Typical outcomes over the following two quarters include a measurable lift in day 30 retention from onboarding and notification fixes, fewer crash related support tickets after dependency upgrades, lower monthly infrastructure spend from backend cleanup, and a roadmap that your leadership actually funds because each item has an estimate and an expected result.
Tepia’s apps average 4.5 stars on the App Store and Google Play, and the path to that rating for an inherited product is rarely a dramatic relaunch. It is a sequence of disciplined releases, each one tested on Alpha and Beta before it reaches the full user base. That is what emotionally intelligent engineering looks like for a live product: respect for the users you already have.
